About the workshop

It is our pleasure to invite you to the 13th International Workshop on Service-Oriented, Holonic and Multi-Agent Manufacturing Systems for Industry of the Future (SOHOMA2023), organized by the Université Savoie Mont Blanc - USMB at Annecy (France), in collaboration with University Politehnica of Bucharest (CIMR - Research Centre in Computer Integrated Manufacturing and Robotics), Polytechnic University Hauts-de-France (LAMIH - Laboratory of Industrial and Human Automation Control, Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science) and Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (CeDRI - Research Centre in Digitalization and Intelligent Robotics).

The main objective of SOHOMA workshops is to foster innovation in smart and sustainable manufacturing and logistics systems and in this context to promote concepts, methods, and solutions for the digital transformation of manufacturing through service orientation in holonic and agent-based control with distributed intelligence.

Sohoma 2023 workshop will take place in Annecy, France at the Univesité Savoie Mont Blanc on September 28-29, 2023

Workshop theme

The theme of the SOHOMA 2023 Workshop is “Sustainability for the digital manufacturing era”. In this edition, the workshop focuses on how the technological enablers of the industry of the future can drive the sustainability for industries, products, processes, and logistics.

The sustainability drivers refer specifically to the technological advances that motivate, encourage, and engage the economic, social, and environmental aspects within the intelligent manufacturing and logistics systems. Therefore, the workshop seeks to propose a scientific debate centred on and between the technology and sustainability perspectives. On the one hand, it proposes the discussion over the innovation delivered by technology to assure the achievement of the sustainable development goals (Technology-centred). On the other hand, it proposes the discussion over the sustainability objectives and challenges that could be solved by technology advances (Sustainable-centred).

This edition maintains the traditional focus on holonic manufacturing control, multi-agent systems and cloud services for the Industry of the Future. Then, the workshop will draw on research developed in the following research axes:

  • IT and OT Modelling techniques (Digital Twin, Object-Orientation, Agents, Service Oriented Architectures...) for automation systems
  • Holonic architectures and multi-agent frameworks for smart and sustainable industrial systems
  • Intelligent products, orders, and systems in industry
  • Service orientation of control and management in the manufacturing value chain
  • Issues of agility, flexibility, safety, resilience and reconfigurability in industrial systems with new service-oriented systems
  • Machine learning techniques for predicting behaviors, evolutions, anomalities and unexpected events in manufacturing processes and resources.
  • Cyber-Physical Production Systems and Industrial IoT implementations for Industry 4.0

.

From the applications, SOHOMA2023 will address aspects of industrial systems management, such as:

  • Machine learning techniques to predict behaviors, evolutions, unexpected events and to detect anomalies in manufacturing processes and resources.
  • Cyber-Physical Production Systems and Industrial IoT for Industry 4.0.
  • Control and management of production, supply chain, logistics, transportation, after-sales services.
  • Industrial and after-sale services and maintenance operations.

 .

In this sense, SOHOMA2023 will provide a remarkable opportunity for Phd students, academics, and industrial communities to discuss future research directions and the development technological enablers for a sustainable industry of the future.Papers presenting solutions based on these technologies for new applications in the manufacturing value chain at the confluence of information technology and automation are especially welcome. All contributions must indicate alignment with the workshop’s theme.
